I wanted to share some of my favorite SEO tools and applications. These SEO apps are the best tools the Web has to offer. And they’re FREE.
Rank Checkers
Aaron Wall’s SEO Book is a fantastic resource for every SEO, from newbie to guru. I use Rank Checker and the SEO for Firefox extensions frequently:
- Rank Checker – find out where your website ranks for target keywords in the three major search engines
- SEO for Firefox – get a host of useful, marketing data points for websites, including inbound link stats, PageRank, cache tallies, etc.
Keyword Research
- Google AdWords Keyword Tool – generate target keyword lists using the actual search data from Google
Market Research
- Google Trends – Google Trends shows search trends over periods of time.
Link Analysis
- Yahoo’s Link-Domain Command – (note: this is run for “metarocketseo.com”) just plug in linkdomain:mywebsite.com -site:mywebsite.com to use Yahoo’s Link-Domain and find out who’s linking to you website, or more importantly, who’s linking to your competitor’s websites.
- SEO Link Analysis is a free Firefox extension that shows link anchor text, PageRank and nofollows.
- Yahoo! Site Explorer gives a pretty deep and thorough analysis of incoming link data.
- Link Diagnosis shows you the important information about your competitor’s links, including PageRank, anchor texts, no-follow information and more.
- MetaRocket SEO is a Boston SEO Company

good list so far…
